Brighton Pride 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year.

On 4 February, Brighton & Hove Pride announced RAYE and the Diana Ross as the headliners for this year’s event, which marks the 35th anniversary of Pride on the Park.

The two-day extravaganza takes place at Preston Park on Saturday 1 August and Sunday 2 August 2026. This year’s theme is ‘The Power of Love’, which will “bring us together in solidarity, resistance and community as we strive for equality for all”.

As outlined in a press release, Brighton Pride 2026 is an opportunity to “look back at where our first march began”. Brighton’s first-ever Gay Pride march took place in 1973 and was organised by the Sussex Gay Liberation Front, a collective founded two years earlier by students and local LGBTQ+ activists.

“This anniversary invites us to remember the courage it took to be visible, during years when showing up at all was an act of resistance,” the statement reads. “Pride grew because people stood together, united. Determined and unapologetic. We honour those early activists, and acknowledge how their bravery and unity carried us all forward.”

Paul Kemp, managing director of Brighton Pride, said he’s “beyond thrilled” to welcome RAYE and Diana Ross as headliners.
